Terms of Use

Effective 14 July 2026 · Last updated 14 July 2026

1. The service

Krung publishes journalism, analysis, newsletters, archive search tools, account features, and related services focused on Southeast Asia. Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued. We try to keep the site accurate and available but do not promise uninterrupted access.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, protect your password, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. One person may not impersonate another, evade access controls, scrape private areas, or use automated means that unreasonably burden the service. You are responsible for activity on your account unless caused by Krung's failure to use reasonable security.

3. Subscriptions and payment

Prices, billing periods, included features, and renewal terms will be shown before purchase. If recurring billing is activated, your plan renews until cancelled through the offered account or payment-provider controls. Taxes and currency conversion may apply. Refunds, cancellation rights, and cooling-off rights required by applicable law remain available. Test or development subscription controls do not create paid access or a right to future service.

4. Editorial content is informational

Krung content is provided for general information and public discussion. It is not legal, medical, tax, investment, immigration, or other professional advice. News changes quickly; linked sources may be corrected, moved, or removed. Verify decisions that carry material risk with current primary sources and a qualified professional.

5. Ask KRUNG and automated output

Ask KRUNG searches Krung's published archive and may automatically assemble summaries, passages, and citations. Automated output can omit context, mis-rank material, or contain errors. It is a discovery aid, not an authoritative source. Open the cited articles and their underlying sources before relying on a result. Do not represent automated output as independently verified reporting.

6. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Krung owns or licenses the site's text, design, software, branding, photographs, graphics, and compilation. You may link to public pages and quote limited portions for criticism, commentary, scholarship, or reporting where the law permits and with clear attribution. You may not republish full articles, remove credits, create a competing archive, sell copies, or use Krung content to train or evaluate commercial machine-learning systems without written permission.

7. Messages and submissions

You retain ownership of material you send to Krung. You give us a non-exclusive permission to read, store, reproduce, and share it internally as needed to respond, evaluate a pitch, investigate a correction, or provide the requested service. Do not send confidential, unlawful, infringing, dangerous, or privacy-invasive material unless we have agreed on a secure channel.

8. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service to break law, harm others, distribute malware, probe security without permission, harvest personal data, bypass paywalls or rate limits, interfere with other readers, or falsely suggest endorsement by Krung. We may limit or terminate access reasonably believed to violate these terms, protect readers, or comply with law.

9. Third-party services and links

Links, embeds, payment services, advertising, and other third-party services are provided for convenience or sourcing. Krung does not control their availability, content, security, or privacy practices. Their terms apply when you use them.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Krung is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service. For claims where a monetary cap is legally permitted, Krung's aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid to Krung in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or certain consumer rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, without excluding mandatory protections that apply where you live. Before filing a claim, contact support@krung.news so we can try to resolve it. Subject to mandatory law, courts with jurisdiction in Bangkok, Thailand may hear disputes.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms prospectively. Material changes will be dated and, where appropriate, announced. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them, except where law requires express agreement. Questions: support@krung.news.
